Kara Weaves is a project at the intersection of good Design principles and Fair Trade practices.
We make exclusive hand-woven table linens and towels and bathrobes using a finely woven cotton towel material called thorthu, traditionally used as an Ayurvedic body-wipe fabric.
This first-of-its-kind attempt in Kerala (for the thorthu fabric) hopes to bridge the gap between this traditional weaving art form and a contemporary lifestyle.
