Established in 1914, Bellingham + Stanley are based in a purpose built manufacturing site in Tunbridge Wells, Kent comprising of 39 employees with our office in the USA employing an additional 5 more sales/service personnel. Bellingham + Stanley are a manufacturing company, specialising in design, manufacture, sales and service of laboratory equipment for measuring the amount of dissolved solids and optically active characteristics of liquids.

Bellingham + Stanley offer a wide range of refractometers, polarimeters and laboratory equipment to most countries around the world, with both pre and post sales support. Of which 80% of Bellingham + Stanley products are exported outside of the EU. Industries include the food and beverage markets, pharmaceutical and chemical, automotive and industrial management industries and companies with a variety of household names serviced including Pepsi Cola, Unilever, GSK and more.

Refractometers are used extensively throughout industry, in such processes including the measurement of dissolved sugar in water (jams, beverages, sauces etc.) The control of engineering lubricants, or for the automotive industry to test antifreeze and more recently fluids such as AdBlue® (a registered trademark of VDMA GmbH), which is a precise blend of urea and water that when injected into the exhaust gases of diesel powered vehicles chemically reduces the levels of Nitrogen Oxide gas emitted; enabling fleet managers to meet latest European regulations, thus reducing exhaust fumes and pollution.
