Founded in 1980, the Radiation Safety Institute of Canada is an independent, not-for-profit national organization dedicated to promoting and advancing radiation safety in the workplace, in the environment and in the community.

Our guiding principle is "Good science in plain language"®. It is our commitment to you to always consult the most authoritative sources we can find for sound scientific knowledge about the radiation safety concerns people bring to our attention, and to provide this knowledge in plain language.

We do not tell people what to think or what to believe. We respect people’s freedom to decide for themselves what ought to be done. We work very hard, therefore, with “Good science in plain language®”, to give people the ability (and the freedom) to make up their own minds.

The Radiation Safety Institute of Canada is incorporated under the laws of Canada as a not-for-profit corporation and is also a registered charity.
