Our success depends on the skills of our people and our formalised training strategy, which includes an extensive apprenticeship, study aid policies and learnership programmes, ensuring an improved and current skill set.

We operate an intensive and interactive health and safety programme, which ensures safe working conditions for all our employees. All safety equipment is supplied to our staff . They have the benefits of optical glasses and personal protective equipment such as hearing protection and safety glasses.

We have a clinic on site that is manned by professionals which addresses all aspects of occupational health. We have an active HIV/Aids programme and a full time lifeline counselor to support our staff.

Our company is known for being first to try out new ideas, innovations and processes. As a result of the open environment and management style at PDC, a number of ideas and innovations are actively pursued, recorded and implemented. There are a number of firsts that PDC can be proud of, including building the only vertical injection squeeze casting machine in South Africa, being the first to manufacture Semi Solid Material components in collaboration with the CSIR and being at the forefront of high speed hard metal machining for tooling.

The innovation program is critical to increasing productivity and managing costs.

We are active in our community supporting a number of charities including Community Chest and Protec (an organisation that helps previously disadvantaged students with maths and science). We train apprentices every year and endeavor to employ them when they are qualified. We support four cottage industries in adjoining suburbs and have helped build a small manufacturing business which currently employs 15 women.
